Anna Paquin (born Winnipeg, raised in Wellington) is a Canadian actress from Canada. Paquin who was born in Wellington but born and raised in Winnipeg made her acting d but on screen in The Piano. At age 11 years old, she became one of the youngest Academy Award winner ever for Best Actress. Anna Paquin full name Anna Helene Paquin born July 24, 1982 in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. Canadian-born New Zealand actor who won the Academy Award as a youngster for Best Supporting Actress for playing the enthusiastic and curious child of Holly Hunter's main role The Piano. The Piano. In response to an open call for auditions and was selected for the part, she was cast in the role of Flora McGrath, the daughter of an mute Scottish piano player who moves into New Zealand in mid-19th-century to marry. The actress was just nine years old and did not have any acting experience. When she was in her teens, the actress moved to America. Paquin played a minor role as the title character when she was just a young girl as part of Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (1996) as well as an important role in the movie Fly Away Home (1996).
