Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton escaped the struggles in her early life thanks to her inventive and innovative imagination. The songs she wrote were composed before she knew how to write and read. After 8 years of age, she got her first guitar. When she was 11 years old she started singing at Knoxville Tenn's local radio station. The first album she recorded was in the same calendar year on Gold Band Records, a small label that was an independent. Although she became popular in the local scene while she was at high school, her dreams were bigger. She moved to Nashville following her graduation in 1964. Dumb Blonde (1967) and Something Fishy (1968) were the first two albums to chart for Monument Records. Porter Wagoner, a syndicated TV show host at the time was searching for a female singer for his program. Parton was hired in 1966, she joined RCA Records in 1968, and then the Grand Ole Opry was founded in 1969. Parton quit the Wagoner's band in 1974, when her solo singles such as Joshua Coat of Many Colors & Jolene beat out the collaborations. Following their breakup, Parton wrote the song I Will Always Love You for Wagoner and it climbed to No. #1 for the first time since 1974.
